Spring:

In the springtime, the Murtoa township comes alive with the colourful blooms of the many flowers and trees that line the streets. The Murtoa Botanic Gardens are a must-visit during this time of year, as the blossoms are simply stunning.

If you're interested in local produce, the Horsham Farmers Market is held on the first Saturday of each month and is a great place to find fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as honey, eggs, and artisanal cheeses. For an even bigger selection of produce, visit the Wimmera Machinery Field Days held in March.

Summer:

Summer is the perfect time to explore the great outdoors around Murtoa. The nearby Lake Marma is a popular spot for swimming, boating, and fishing. If you're feeling adventurous, try out water skiing or wakeboarding.

In the evenings, the Horsham Plaza Drive-In Cinema is a fun option for a nostalgic movie viewing experience. Pack up the car with snacks and blankets and settle in for a double feature under the stars.

Autumn:

The changing leaves of autumn provide a beautiful backdrop for many events and activities around Murtoa. O'Keefe's Rail Trail is a must-visit during this time of year, as the trail is flanked by stunning foliage.

For a unique experience, visit the Yarriambiack Creek Wetlands for twilight bird watching. With over 200 species to spot, you'll be in awe of the wildlife.

Winter:

While the temperatures may drop in winter, Murtoa still offers plenty to do. The Horsham Art Gallery has an extensive collection of works from local and international artists and is a great place to spend an afternoon.

The Murtoa Stick Shed is also worth a visit during the winter months. This impressive structure was built in 1941 to store grain during World War II and is now a cultural and historical landmark.
